About Me

Ei Maung is a web developer from Yangon, Myanmar. Started his career as software developer after getting a Diploma in Computer Science from Dagon University in 2003. And then, he spent 2+ years in desktop application development.

In 2006, he switched into web development and started working for Novasteps until he founded his own web development team call DuroSoft in July 2009. PHP is his favorite language in web development and he have worked on plenty of full scaled web application projects with it.

Ruby and Ruby on Rails are his another favorite language and framework.

Usually, he don’t like to use PHP frameworks and CMS. He thought, no framework is perfect after knowing that Ruby on Rails is the best framework on this planet. He created his own small PHP MVC framework with CRUD generator (partly cloned from Ruby on Rails – you may see as open-source later).

Currently, he fell in love to jQuery and dive and hack into it. He strongly believe Javascript would be the next big language. And he thought CSS and HTML are the state of arts.

Project Management
Later, he getting changed into Project Manager role and got success in that role. He has good faith in Agile, SCRUM, TDD and other principle related to agile development what is his favorite project management method. Currently, he is managing a full scale web media portal project and leading a mobile web application development team.

Open-source
He is a one of open-source ethuciastist and Ubuntu Linux is his operating system of choice. Gedit is his text-editor of choice and NetBeans IDE is his ide of choice. He strongly support open-source and free software movement, and already release a useful calender converter project as open-source.

Tools
He love Firefox very much and it save his development life a-lot. Firebug, Web Developer Toolbar, Colorzilla, Delicious Bookmarks, Live HTTP header, Abduction, Switch Proxy Tool, GridFox, User Agent Switcher and Selinium IDE are can’t-live-without addons for him. As already mention, he strongly support open-source. Most of the tools he use are open-source tools. Git for version control, Trac for project management. And so on…

Personal Facts
25 years old, gamer, basketball player and soccer fan. His favorite games are DotA and Football Manager. He is a hard-core fan of Liverpool FC and favorite player is Steven Gerrard. He love Harry Potter series (and thought Harry Potter movies are suck). Also interested in mythology, history, science, fantasy and religion matters. Like other geeks, his favorite moviews are Star War, Lord of the Rings and Matrix.
